The Olympics Are Coming to Melbourne

GUYS. YOU GUYS. There’s this amazing new competition that’s just been announced, and it’s going to rocket my street cred right to the very top.

Melbourne is making a bid for the 2042 Olympics, because they have plans to build a really nice new stadium and they’re pretty sure that it’ll land them a solid nomination. However, to increase their chances, they want to host a competition to create an Olympics theme, one that represents both the global human spirit, but also the wonders of Melbourne. And get this…they want it to have an alternative feel. I’m all about alternative!

And who knows the true depths of Melbourne better than me? The many hours I spent, listening to mechanics in Bentleigh doing auto electrical work. The days upon days I spent on stakeout, listening to car professionals, doing professional car things. And…other stuff, you know.

Okay, so there are certain industries I don’t know as well. But still, I’m pretty sure Melbourne has a very famous auto electrical scene, which is going to make it into my song because it’s an integral part of its beating heart.

I’m thinking of playing most of the song on the most Melbourne-centric instrument there is…the trombone. I just started playing last week, but I have until 2042 to record the final version, so whatever. I have some killer lyrics as well:

“MEL-BOURNE OLYMPICS, OLYMPICS IN MELBOURNE!

A PLACE OF CARS AND LOUD TROMBONES, WE LOVE IT SO, DUM-DUM.”

Some lyrics are placeholders, but you get the gist. I want to properly showcase each and every mechanic near Bentleigh, where I gleaned most of my car knowledge, and all across this great city, home of the Olympics 2042. Maybe I need something about coffee in there as well. Coffee and auto-electrical.
